IOD White Papers

IOD - Low power LCD application example

This paper investigates the application of Adiabatic Logic's IOD technology as a potentially simple and effective means to simultaneously reduce both power consumption and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) in an LCD Controller to Source Driver interface.

IOD - Reducing Power through I/O Efficiencies

With the aid of diagrams, this paper gives a detailed insight into how IOD works. Heat is often seen as the inevitable side effect of any useful process. We show how, by elegantly combining conventional series termination functions with the adiabatic (or lossless) principle, considerable power savings can be achieved, along with other benefits. The paper then moves on to quantify the value of these advantages in the context of a current market opportunity.

Transmission Line Principles

Many digital designers admit they would prefer not think about transmission lines and their dynamic behaviour. Indeed going back a few years, when typical output driver rise times were 10ns or more, it was often possible to design PCBs without worrying too much about transmission line effects.
